Album sleeve designer and artist Stuart Hampton was born in Manchester England and comes from a long line of artists and musicians. Stuart's work has gradually taken a very musical direction - designing album covers for The Velvet Underground and The Grateful Dead - His musical approach to painting has also attracted interest from some of the music industries biggest names and has seen him being asked to paint pictures for such rock legends as Pete Townshend of The Who and Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin.
Influenced by some of the great masters of painting such as Gauguin and more contemporary artists like Salvador Dali, Stuart tries to break down the borders of perception and reality and unite the imaginary with the real, creating powerful and provocative paintings.
'I now spend a lot of time painting and trying to create images that speak messages of peace, understanding, humility and appreciation for love and nature.' - Stuart Hampton
